Family Vacation Spots And Tourist Sites In Nigeria

So it’s Summer. For some places like Nigeria, it means lots of rain till the August break. Other places it means time to flash that bikini bod. Well, in Saudi Arabia, it means don’t just bother taking a walk because Saudi’s sun is the ‘Holy Grail’ of Sunshine but one thing we all have in common is the ‘summer holiday’ especially for kids. Kids these days are balling, thinking and scheming vacation plans, looking forward to traveling abroad every year for the summer. Hmmm, in my time, na who dash monkey this luxury? Their class mates do not help matters, matter of fact, they live to out-do eachother each summer trip. So we are excited our kids are being exposed through travel but if that cash just ain’t in our pocket now, what do we do to salvage the situation? – Go local!

Nigeria has some picturesque vacation spots just like you’d see in the movies. I just don’t know why we don’t herald these this much but we are ready to complain about the things that ain’t working. I’ve visited some Tourist sites in Cross River State and honestly, you need to see it for yourself. You would get a great experience for less than half of expenses cut out for traveling abroad. The spots are spread out in Nigeria. Here are some few you’d like:

Obudu Ranch Resort

It is also a home to large migratory roosts in Africa. It’s a perfect destination for ‘family’s day out’, parents can take their children here to experience the amazing wildlife it offers.
 
The National Children’s Park and Zoo

The National Children’s Park and Zoo located in Asokoro District, Abuja has wildlife and domestic animals. It also has plenty of playgrounds and activities for children. It allows children to get up close to some of the most exciting animals like the lions and monkeys. Be careful and follow instructions at site.
 
Erin Ijesha waterfalls

Erin Ijesha waterfalls also known as Olumirin waterfalls is a natural sauna located in Ijesha, Osun State. The falls has seven layers of ascending plains with all the levels having breathing views and the freshness of the water is energizing. Being at these different levels and just basking in the invigorating freshness of the falls is an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
So with these, you can have a great time for way less and your kids will have so much to talk and write about that “What I did last summer” topic.
