Gizzard Vegetable Curry Sauce

Hey, people! This is my first recipe post. Yayyyy! And I must say, I think I did pweetty good. *moon-walking*

Okay, so here is an easy recipe that anyone , even “Oga” can prepare. It’s the yummy Gizzard Vegetable Curry Sauce. Not only is it healthy, it sure will save you the stress of using fresh tomatoes. A great substitute to your rice and stew.

  1. 1 kg of gizzards
  2. Onions
  3. Dry Pepper
  4. Green Pepper
  5. Carrots
  6. Red Pepper
  7. Yellow bell pepper
  8. Curry
  9. Knorr seasoning
  10. Flour
  11. Salt to taste

First, wash your gizzards thoroughly. Add a little bit of water to it. Dice some onions, add some Knorr cubes, Dry pepper, curry and lil’ bit of salt. Set on the cooker and cook for 20 minutes. Dice the green pepper, yellow bell pepper, carrots and red pepper. Add them and stir, continue cooking. 5 minutes later, add a level tablespoon of flour to thicken the sauce. This is optional. Cook for another 5 minutes and you are done.

You can add or remove from these. Personally, I love to see rainbow colors as I prep my meal. If you know your rainbow colors (ROYGBIV), you’d know I was close. Blues are not visually appealing. Violet, oh well Aubergine eggplant can represent the purple family but I don’t need it. As for dicing, dice according to how you want it. Personally when I make such sauce I love them diced big, so I can eat and feel the crunch. However for fried rice, I like to dice them a lot smaller.

Serve with Rice, Potatoes, Pasta or Yam.

If this was served at a Chinese restaurant for you and your boo, you will hear “ta-teen tawwwjan!” But I used less than 1,500 Naira to cook this food and it served four people. So, when that your friend/ boo drags you to another expensive restaurant…..again, just tell her/him  you can get same quality for less amount at home. Can I get a Harllerluryar?!

Final look……

…….cos it tasted as good as it looked. LOL. Courtesy me and my daughter.

Back to the matter . Break down the corn flour. Is it dry or mixed with water?

You could do both. If you mix it with water, use little water to make it into a paste, then add it to the sauce. If you sprinkle it dry, be sure to break down lumps of flour until it’s not visible in sauce anymore. Thanks for stopping by.
