Hello, my people! First of all, let me say a big thank you for all the birthday wishes. You know what, birthdays should be celebrated more than a day. The show of love was phenomenal. I know I didn’t climb the mountain top to scream it here but if you read my last post, you’d know it was my birthday few days ago. So thank you.
Recently, I’ve been meaning to share something really important. To some, it might be irrelevant but to me, it’s a picture perfect example of how the universe spirals things your way.
You guys know we’ve been living in Saudi Arabia until recently. The kids were growing up to school age and it was obviously time for hubby and I to make serious decisions on moving. Saudi Arabia was everything and they have very good schools there but we didn’t want our kids having their foundational tutelage there. So we looked forward to leaving. My hubby had gone through successful job interviews, so we just waited for that life-changing call. During the wait, I had reconnected with my childhood friend via social media. Life has happened and we weren’t close anymore but our first call closed all the gap lost with time. We had a long first call and we both shared what our worlds were like. She was in Grenada with her family at the time. She feared so much for my life, living in Saudi Arabia but I had to tell her how different and safe it was, in reality. We chatted once in a while. Then she called one day, asking me to join an e-book networking sale scheme. I actually didn’t even understand what she was asking at the time. All I knew was that, as soon as I heard ‘networking’, all I started hearing afterwards was “xgfh laguddbodskdkskagevrbjm” …because I don’t bother myself with pyramid schemes after two failed attempts. She convinced me this was different (…it’s Always different. Lol). The fee required was just 18 US Dollars. I was shocked that’s all I needed to pay to her e-book account. So I told her I have the money in hand but I didn’t have a visa card to do that transaction. She convinced me to use Hubby’s. I was so sceptical because of internet security challenges on credit/debit cards but I asked him anyway and he let me. So I paid. She was happy and thanked me. Months later, she buzzed me to ask if my Hubby was interested in getting a job in Grenada. I thought of the blue sea, swaying coconut trees, white sands in milliseconds and I gave a loud Yesss. I told hubby about it and he was both excited and confused, knowing we had a set plan. Long story short, there was a vacancy and that job fell on his laps…without him asking for it. This offer even came earlier than the other option we were originally hoping for and it was timely enough to leave Saudi Arabia.
When we left, my friend called as always just to know how we were trying to relocate and she told me something that shocked me. She asked if I remembered the 18 dollars I sent her. At that point, I remembered but didn’t see the relevance. She said, the way I ensured she got that 18 dollars to her e-book account was what made her think of my family first when she heard of the job vacancy. Now, that left me speechless. I started reminiscing how dogged she was about the whole process. She kept calling to make sure we were still interested. She kept calling to make sure we had reached. Such a friend, is hard to find. It took an irrelevant 18 bucks….(that can fetch me only a Large Pepperoni Pizza and large Coke)…to bring me to this beautiful Island. It’s a transit point for greater things to come but I’m loving the time spent here.
You know, my policy has always been, anytime you get the chance to do good, do good. Never worry if it’s being taken for granted or not appreciated. I believe the universe always spirals things your way (good or bad). The most irrelevant thing you do could actually be a key to your breakthrough. Just do good anyway! I hope you have a blessed Sunday. Now that I’ve shared this testimony, It’s OFFERINGGGGG TIME!!!
