Of course, I love football and people like my hubby have resumed duty on head-bobbing at the TV screen. This Premier League season is going to be one of a kind as Leicester city FC(last season’s champions) already showed signs that they are not backing down from winning the trophy again. They signed in some great players like Nigerian player, Ahmed Musa who has been showing some outstanding skills in the field and even scored outstanding goals during the friendly matches. Jamie Vardy who was rumored to have been sold to Arsenal, is still with his home club, Leicester City. One of their holy trinity of star players – N’Golo Kante – has left but Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy remain and the Foxes have a Champions League campaign to look forward to this year. They kick off the season, playing against Hull City.
We look forward to great football as it will be spiced with theatrics from Jose Mourinho( The new Manchester United Manager), Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool’s Manager), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City Manager), just to mention a few.
The Premier League won’t be short of egos this season.
Jose Mourinho has taken over at Manchester United and signed former Paris St-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and £89m Paul Pogba – while across town former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola is the new man in charge of Manchester City.
The other new managers to keep an eye on are David Moyes at Sunderland, Antonio Conte at Chelsea, Claude Puel at Southampton, Ronald Koeman at Everton and Walter Mazzarri at Watford.
You noticed, I didn’t say much of our ‘Daddy’, Arsene Wenger! Well…because he’s been leaving me speechless. We never buy any major player like other teams. At least this year, Arsenal bought Granit Xhaka, the Swiss Midfielder. I was really hoping for a striker. We are on a wing and a prayer on this one. Our Daddy says he knows best like he has known in other seasons *rolling eyes*. What would we do na? We cannot throw our Daddy away. Let’s just hope this time Arsenal can win the trophy. Last year, we came 2nd, so that’s a step in the right direction.
Notice, the Premier League logo has changed to a new purple-hued Lion Head….nicccceee!
